Rilee's hives are a virus. Or as Dr. J put it she is allergic to her own virus. As the virus flares up her body starts attacking it and then she breaks out in the hives. Then it will get fought down a bit and she quits breaking out for a bit. Then the whole process starts all over again. This can take up to a week to get rid of. If she were to get worse or they were to not go away or if she were to start having trouble breathing then we are to take her in to Dr. J immediately and an allergy specialist gets called. But this is a very common thing amoung children. Plus, Rilee has what looks like a cold sore on her bottom lip and that is another sign of a virus. So she gave us a prescription for zyrtec which is basically non-drowsy benadryl. So I'm glad it wasn't anything to serious. I was a bit worried about her.
