Good Grief!!

What a day!!! Rilee is teething so bad right now. She is just not a happy toddler. She is working on 2 molars and the poor girl is in a lot of pain. She doesn't want to eat and she cries a lot. Plus, Erik is out of town for work again and I don't think that helps her much. She and Brooklyn miss Daddy so much when he is gone. But hopefully he will be home tomorrow. At least that is the plan as of today. Hopefully tomorrow will go more smoothly for my little ones. They both are in need of lots of rest.

We had a great time camping. The girls loved it at least until bedtime. They could hear way too much, plus they didn't have a nightlight. Then Erik had the great idea of hanging our flashlight from the hook in the tent and leaving it on to act as a nightlight. We ended up just leaving them in the tent by themselves, because they just wouldn't settle down with us in there. Whenever they would call or cry we would let them know they were ok and we were right there close by. They finally fell asleep, but it was a rough night for me. I was worried they wouldn't stay warm enough because they kept throwing their blankets off. It was a very long night. The only thing that really bothered me was the flies that were everywhere. I only got 2 mosquito bites. They didn't really bother me too much. And I don't think Brooklyn got any. Rilee did get one, but that was all she got. Erik tried to do some fishing, but we were skunked. He only got a few hits. Brooklyn loved playing in the water along the edge. The water was only about 2ft deep or less at its deepest point in this particular spot. The girls and I were walking over to see Erik and Rilee got out a bit and tripped over a big rock. Brooklyn said "Mommy, Rilee's in the water." I turned and looked and she was out where it was a bit deeper and she couldn't stand up. She kept slipping on the rocks. I took off running into the water hiking boots and all to get her. Luckily it wasn't very serious. When she would fall her face never went in the water. Brooklyn is very protective of her little sister. She is always watching her. She freaks out if she thinks she is to close to the street. Even if she just on the sidewalk, Brooklyn makes sure she doesn't go in the street. She even tries to protect her from us if Rilee gets into trouble. Its pretty cute, except when Rilee isn't listening and gets put in timeout. Then Brooklyn gets mad at us and tells us "Don't to put her in timeout! She's my sister!" It is pretty funny. Pop thinks its great that she's so protective.

Well, I need to get some sleep. The girls have been up between 7-7:30am the last 2 days. And that is not at all their normal schedule. They are normally not up till somewhere between 9-10am.
